After the first big snowfall of 2005 (which I later found out has become called the blizzard of 2005), the parking lot looked rather strange. On one side, it looked like there had only been a light dusting, while on the other... No, I did not drive into a snowbank. The loose snow and high winds combined to form snowdrifts of up to at least 5 feet in some places, such as the hood of my car. Backing out was rather easy, leaving behind a big dent in the snow. Even with this much snow gathered in large snowdrifts, the piles of snow that was removed from the parking lot were as big as the garages. I wonder how many more telephone poles the snow removal service will rip down while removing these piles...
