Mdina was the original capitol of Malta before the Knights of St. John moved it to Valletta. Today the city contains mostly small shops, cafes, old monochromatic buildings, and widescreen "experience" tourist theatres, like "The Mdina Experience," which we saw before leaving. We also visited the cathedral museum (we weren't dressed properly for the cathedral, second row third picture above), which contains a lot of nice artwork and other historical artifacts, including an interesting coin collection. We also found the Maltese Falcon, shown above.
